Cane Trip in Northwestern Ontario

Paddlers in a 24-foot canoe are the midst of an 18-day, 350-mile journey that started yesterday in Atikokan and will end in Thunder Bay.
The trek celebrates the 100th birthday of the Superior National Forest and Quetico Provincial Park, and is being put on by the Heart of the Continent Partnership, a group that works to preserve the heritage of the border lakes region.
