12-women will embark on a 3-day, 50-kilometre canoe trip Friday to help
keep the Sioux Lookout Anti-Racism Committee Youth Centre open.
The facility provides a safe and enjoyable hangout that is drug and
alcohol free for some 2,400 visitors.
The Canoeathon goal this year is $5,000 to cover the cost
of programming and supervision.
The women will leave Abram Lake and paddle 25-kilometres to Stranger
Lake and back.
