Carol Hughes Believes Feds Can Do More To Move ROF Along

The Federal NDP says the Conservative government is lowering expectations and downplaying their commitment to the Ring of Fire.
MP Carol Hughes has made the claim in the House of Commons.
Hughes says the Treasury Board President recently lectured northern businesses about why he doesn’t think the Conservatives should do anything to unlock the potential of the giant mining project.
Hughes adds Tony Clement also stated the government wouldn’t invest in the massive mining project as economic conditions weren’t favourable.
She says the government should be encouraging development opportunities, not impeding them.
