Carrie on School Funding

School boards across northwestern Ontario have a better idea of how they will be able to spend extra money they were promised this week by the Ministry of Education.

A video-conference was held yesterday to explain where the money would be allocated.

Dean Carrie is the Superintendant of Finance for the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board and says they actually did quite well with the new funding.

Carrie says they will receive an extra 630 thousand dollars this year and some of that money will go towards some of the more rural or remote schools in the district.
