The City of Dryden could house a Casino with 300 slot machines and 16
tables as well as a 100 room Hotel and 500 seat Convention Centre as early
as January 2007.
That according to PKF Consulting’s Fran Hohol who has released
details of a feasibility study looking at a proposed Centre.
Hohol says the $23 million facility would be smaller then others in Ontario but would have substantial
economic spin-off’s.
Hohol says the facility would attract some 100,000 new visitors
and generate anywhere from $12 to $26 million in economic activity
annually.
She did not identify a possible location however notes it should be
close to Highway 17 and allow for further expansion.
Dryden residents spend $3.1 million annually on games of chance.
