The Northwest Catholic District School Board is already looking ahead to the new school year.
The Board has approved a roughly $23.2-million balanced budget and the focus will be on the classroom.
Superintendent of Business Seija Van Haesendonck says they are fortunate to be in the position to allocate additional funds to some of their important areas, primarily in special education.
She says they also plan to add French Immersion programming at two schools as well as update resources for Catholic Faith programming.
Van Haesendonck notes these were all identified as key priorities during public consultations.
The capital budget totals $500,000.
Work includes the second phase of a roofing project, lighting fixture upgrades as well improving and standardizing building automation systems in schools.
Van Haesendonck adds they are projecting an increase in enrolment next school year.
