The Kenora Catholic District School Board is running a slight deficit midway through the school year.
Finance Manager Alison Smith says they are about $40,000 in the red right now.
Smith says they are seeing some extra costs associated with the new provincial collective agreement, including increased benefits.
She notes while the new contract is supposed to be revenue neutral, it could take a couple of years for those savings to work through their books.
Smith says the good news is enrolment is holding steady according to their most recent fall figures.
