The Northwest Catholic District School Board is celebrating the end of the school year.
Director Rick Boisvert says he toured area schools this week and the energy was electric.
On the board side of things, Boisvert says they have made a strong effort to improve learning.
He says they have increased staffing in several key areas.
Boisvert adds they are boosting special education resource staffing, increasing educational assistant time and making a commitment to maintain numeracy teachers at all of their schools.
Boisvert says they are also expanding their French immersion programs into Grade 3 classes in Sioux Lookout and Fort Frances.
He believes the staffing commitment has resulted in heightened success for students in Dryden, Sioux Lookout and Fort Frances.
