Cuts have been made to computers, resources and program development
funding in order to balance the Northwest District Catholic School Board’s
books.
The Board has approved the 2007 budget, although $1.1-million
had to be taken out of reserves.
Director of Education Mary-Catherine Kelly says they felt the pinch
this year.
Kelly says the deficit is due in part to a decline in several
Provincial grants and a drop in enrolment.
Enrolement dropped by 80-students but staffing levels will remain the
same.
No major capital work is planned this year.
