2003 was a tough year for cattle ranchers in the Region.
Farmer Kim Jo Bliss says given the mad cow scare on both sides of the border, the new year could be a make or break one for many.
The area Producer says that reason, along with falling cattle prices, she feels some could call it quits in the coming months.
Given the current BSE scare in Washington State, Bliss thinks the Americans may be too concerned about their own well being, than looking at reopening the border to Canadian live cattle.
