Chamber Worried About Ontario Retirement Pension Plan

A new survey from the Ontario Chamber of Commerce shows the Ontario Retirement Pension Plan could have negative consequences for employment.
According to the survey, 44% of businesses would reduce their current payroll or hire fewer employees and only 26% of businesses in the province believe they can shoulder the financial burden associated with the ORPP.
Chambers of Commerce across the province are calling on the Ontario Government to reconsider its approach to boosting Ontarians’ retirement savings and assess the extent to which the implementation of the plan will affect Ontario’s economy.
