Region Basically Ignored In Infrastructure Funding

Not a lot of money flowing to the Kenora District from the province’s new infrastructure fund.
Only Sioux Lookout will be getting funding through the application process from the Ontario Municipal Infrastructure Fund.
The community has been promised almost $2-million to upgrade its sewer and water main.
Meanwhile, two communities in the Rainy River District will be getting just over $2.7-million.
Fort Frances is due to receive $2-million for road reconstruction and sewer and water projects while Rainy River gets $700,000 for similar work.
A total of 78 projects were approved across the province.
