Major change is on the horizon as 12 Ontario Safety Associations are being amalgamated.
The Municipal Health and Safety Association says 4-different Associations will be formed, with one Association being positioned in Northern Ontario.
President Bill Blackborow says the Group will ensure Northerners are receiving direct access to safety prevention and training.
Blackborow says the makeover is expected to be completed in early January, 2010.
He adds the change will result in more money for training and services as well as additional jobs in the North.
