In loving Memory of our father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather Charles Robert Pittman who passed away September 16, 2002 at the age of 92 in Lac Du Bonnet, MB. Charles Robert Pittman was born July 4, 1910 in Silver Plains, MB. Charles moved to Morris, Manitoba where he was a farmer, carpenter and looked after the arena. In 1954 Charles moved to Dryden, ON where he was employed with the Dryden Paper Company. In 1957 he moved his wife Vera and family to Dryden, ON. Charles worked at the mill in Dryden until his retirement in 1975 at the age of 65. He moved to Lac Du Bonnet, Manitoba in 1991 where he resided until his passing. Charles enjoyed walking, reading, cribbage, gardening and in his younger years hunting and fishing.
Charles Pittman is survived by his son Robert of Lac Du Bonnet, MB., daughters Rosalie (Jerry) Fifi of Lac Du Bonnet, MB., Virginia (Harold) Piche’ of Dryden, ON, and one sister Mildred (Art) Giese of Simi Valley, California.
Also surviving are his grandchildren, Kenneth Nelson and family of Lac Du Bonnet, MB., Bruce (Joan) Nelson and family of Pinawa, MB., Melodie Nelson (Rick) and family of Winnipeg, MB., Allan Nelson (Charity) of Winnipeg, MB., Randy (Tannise) Piche’ and family of Thunder Bay, ON, Ricky (Patti) Piche’ and family of Dryden, ON and Lori (Mike) Schmunk and family of Tacoma, Washington. He also leaves behind 5 great great grandchildren. Charles was predeceased by his loving wife of over 50 years Vera in 1989, as well as 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
The family would like to thank all the staff at the Lac Du Bonnet Personal Care Home and the Doctors and Nurses at the Pinawa Hospital for their professional care.
At his request cremation has taken place. Memorial Services to celebrate the life of Charles Robert Pittman were held on Saturday September 21, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dryden Community Funeral Home with Mr. John Mulders officiating.
