In loving memory of Charles “Chuck” Wintle, age 85 years, who passed away in the Dryden Regional Health Center on Sunday, February 23rd with his family at his side.
It is with thankfulness for 85 years of a life well lived, and sadness for those left behind, that we say our fondest goodbyes to a great man. Charles Wintle was a man of many virtues and the best of those was his ability to love deeply and share every part of his being.
Chuck’s greatest accomplishment was his 60+years married to the love of his life Shirley and the raising of their 6 children. Dawn and Gord, Terry, Brian and Debbie, Kathy and Cliff, Carol and Paul and Lisa and Mike.
Dad was very proud of his 6 children and the 14 grandchildren he was blessed with. Ryan and Jen, Erin and Brian, Dusty, Mark and Melissa, Sheena, Carly and Andrew, Isaac and Jessica, Neil and Bola, Charlee and Matt, Gabrielle and Delaney, Laura, Josh, Taylor and Sophie. Pop was also very excited to welcome his 3 great-grand children. Nash, Sadie, Lyra and 2 more arriving shortly. Chuck will also be missed by his brothers Sid and Bud and his sister Alice and their families.
Dad was not able to get out and about over the past few months however he was so appreciative of his family and friends who stopped to share a moment, a thought or a prayer. Those visits meant the world to him.
Some will remember Chuck for his 40+ years working at our local mill. Others will see him as a faithful servant at St Luke’s Anglican Church. Many will miss the bounty he readily shared from his garden. Still others will remember him out standing in his fields.
The family would like to thank Dr. Moir for the heartfelt care Dad received from him. Pop said “he had many blessings in his life and he counted Dr. Moir as one of them”. Thanks also to Dr. Nick and the many nurses that took such good care of him both at the hospital and at home.
Until we meet again Pop, we will miss you greatly but we know we will be with you again and what a party we will have!
Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 28th at 1:00 p.m. in St. Luke’s Anglican Church with Father Dick Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow in the Dryden Cemetery. Visitation will take place Thursday, February 27th from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Moffat Chapel of the Stevens Funeral Homes.
If friends desire donations may be made to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation or St. Luke’s Anglican Church through the Stevens Funeral Homes P.O. Box 412, Dryden ON P8N 2Z1. Condolences may be posted at www.stevensfuneralhomes.ca
