The Dryden Fire Service was busy yesterday evening.
At 7 p.m. Dryden Fire and Police Service crews were called to the east end of Duke Street because power lines were down.
On arrival crews found the cause of the problem, a contract dump truck with the box still extended up, had entangled power lines from homes.
The street was blocked to keep residents away and homes were checked for electrical issues.
Hydro One crews remained on scene restoring power to the residents effected.
The action didn’t stop there, a carbon monoxide alarm went off at at St. Charles Street residence at 1:30 a.m.
Dryden Fire Service and Union Gas technicians attended the scene.
They found the furnace wall vent buried in the snow, once the snow was shoveled away, the furnace began to work properly.
A reminder to all residents and businesses to keep snow piles away from structures, natural gas meters, and vents for appliances.
