Check For Ticks When You Come Inside

Just because there’s a concern over the tick population in northwestern Ontario, doesn’t mean you have to hole up in your house during the warmer months.

That’s from tick expert Vett Lloyd who says that when you’ve been outside fishing, golfing, gardening, hunting or doing other outdoor activities you should strip off and have a close look at your body.

Lloyd says we have to start changing our behaviour and check for them on a daily basis.

She notes says with global warming the winters are easier on ticks every year

A recent Lyme Ontario report indicated the Kenora district is home to eight different species of ticks carrying the Lyme bacteria, five of those types of ticks will bite humans.
