The City of Dryden says there will be upgrades at the Memorial Arena to ensure its ready for next years Central Canada Junior Hockey Championship.
Deputy Mayor Martin MacKinnon stresses they will be working closely with the Dryden GM Ice Dogs to ensure the facility is prepared for the Dudley Hewitt Cup.
MacKinnon notes it will be a band-aid solution to a long term fix.
He says they have submitted a number of funding applications and are preparing several more.
MacKinnon says the DREAM Committee is also doing a great job taking the lead in efforts to upgrade the facility.
He adds having proper infrastructure in place is essential to build a stronger and more vibrant community.
