They City of Dryden will ask the Province to be included in gas tax funding.
The Grits say 1 cent/litre will go to Cities for public transportation.
Director of Corporate Services Paul Heayn has advised Council to write a letter to the Province asking them to distribute the upcoming gas tax to infrastructure projects.
Based on population, Dryden could be in-line to receive $246,000 in the first year.
Meantime, Heayn is asking Council to identify a major project for Provincial funding.
This Fall, Dryden will compete with other Ontario Municipalities for $180 million in grant money.
However, Heayn says te City will have to act fast as he believes a total of only 20 projects will be approved.
