The City of Dryden is getting funding for seniors programming.
Community Services Manager Jason Boyer says they have received $25,000 from the Senior Community Grant program.
“Through a collaborative partnership with the Dryden Go-getters, our museum coordinator and our recreation manager, we worked together to design a program called the Healthy Minds and Bodies for Seniors,” Boyer told council recently.
Boyer adds they have a number of activities set up for seniors in the community.
“Activities such as open billiards, open darts, pole walking, senior aerobics, pottery creations and outdoor music trivia challenge. The program is also going to strive to offer a safety series that will include fraud, scams, online safety, falling and self-defense.”
Boyer says the idea is to get seniors out and to get them to socially engage with other seniors in a safe environment.
