City Police Budget Update

Cutbacks at the Dryden Police Service.
Chief Rob Davis says they were able to save some money in their budget, but stresses they’re not out of the woods yet.
Davis says they were able to save $300,000 in the initial draft of the budget.
However, Davis says they will still be asking for a $14,000 increase in their budget to keep up with salaries and benefits for staff.
The Service is now combining its jail guards with its dispatchers.
The move will save $80,000.
Davis says they also plan on extending the life of their cruisers by refurbishing them.
