City Staff Facing a Wage Freeze

The final 2009 Budget is expected to be presented to Dryden Council in early January.
Staff are still about $306,000 shy of balancing the books.
Treasurer Linda McNaughton says Staff and Council have both agreed to a wage freeze across all sectors in the organization next year.
McNaughton says some contractual obligations are in place for next year and those areas will be asked to waive any increase.
She notes if not granted, the City would be looking for a 1-year wage freeze once they expire.
