The Aboriginal Water and Wastewater Association of Ontario (AWWAO) is seeking a Part-Time Administrative Assistant to support our organization and work with First Nations communities.

Position Details

  • Location: Remote (Home-Based, Ontario – occasional travel required)
  • Hours: Minimum 15 hours per week
  • Wage: Approximately $30/hour (based on experience)
  • Probation: 3-month probation period
  • Opportunity: Potential to grow into a full-time position

About the Role

We are looking to hire a part-time assistant to support administrative duties and assist with succession planning. This role supports AWWAO’s day-to-day operations and delivery of services to First Nations communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support, scheduling, and organization
  • Maintain member database and contact lists
  • Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, and Board packages
  • Coordinate travel, logistics, and events
  • Assist with AGM, Training Conference, and Tradeshow
  • Prepare materials (name tags, signage, registration packages)
  • Perform bookkeeping and financial tracking using Sage Accounting
  • Track memberships and payments
  • Support funding reports (ISC, Health Canada)
  • Maintain corporate records
  • Assist with newsletters (Waterdrum / Water Stream)
  • Manage communications and member inquiries
  • Update website and assist with social media
  • Coordinate training registrations
  • Manage supplies and promotional materials
  • Assist with surveys and reporting
  • Provide general support to the Coordinator and Board

Qualifications

  • S.S.D. or equivalent
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with Sage Accounting
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Must have access to a reliable vehicle
