Coordinator- Independent Living
Responsibilities:
Provide coordination and implementation of community services that assist seniors to live independently while dealing with personal and other issues. Service is coordinated in a supervised setting for the frail elderly and individuals with dementia and Alzheimer’s. Programs and services are delivered in a manner that support and allow individuals to remain independent in their own environments.
Education:
- Diploma in Social Service Work or Human Studies
- Related studies and courses in the elderly and aging
- Experience and understanding of program planning and coordination
Requirements:
- Current Criminal Reference check Vulnerable Sector
- Up to date Immunization
- Valid Ontario G drivers license, acceptable driver abstract and access to vehicle
- Computer literate with excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience and or ability to supervise and coordinate volunteers, students and employees
- Work experience with seniors an asset
Hours of Work:
Full Time – 37.5 hours per week
Flexible hours as required to meet service delivery
Schedule includes on call after hours
Rate of Pay:
Probation rate: $23.42
Hourly rate: $29.28
OMERS pension plan and benefit package.
