Are you a strategic, relationship-driven leader passionate about building strong business communities? The Dryden District Chamber of Commerce is seeking an Executive Director to lead and grow our nonprofit organization and support a membership of 115+ local businesses.
About the Role
The Executive Director works closely with the Board of Directors to implement the Chamber’s strategic plan, oversee the annual budget, and manage day-to-day operations. This role advocates for local businesses, strengthens member engagement, and builds community connections.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent the Chamber publicly and advocate on behalf of the business community
- Grow and engage membership through proactive recruitment and retention strategies
- Generate non-dues revenue through programs, partnerships, and sponsorships
- Plan, manage, and execute events, programs, and marketing initiatives
- Oversee financial operations, budgeting, grant applications, and monthly reporting in collaboration with the bookkeeper
- Support staff, subcommittees, and volunteers as required
- Report regularly to the Board of Directors and attend monthly board meetings
- Stay informed on legislative, economic, and industry trends impacting local businesses
- Maintain social media presence including website content
Qualifications
- Experience in a nonprofit or membership-based organization (considered an asset)
- Previous experience as an Executive Director, business manager, marketing manager, or sales manager
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and close sales
- Strong understanding of governance, working with a Board of Directors, annual budgets, and strategic plans
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn accounting software
- Experience using Canva or similar design tools to create branded marketing materials
- Experience with Constant Contact or similar email marketing platforms (an asset)
- Excellent communication, strong organizational, and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Valid Class G driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, and proof of insurance
Additional Details
Hours: 30 hours per week with occasional pre-planned evening or weekend commitments.
Compensation: $30.00 per hour with 3 weeks paid vacation
