Personal Care Attendant Support Worker
Full Time Position
Responsibilities
Provide seniors with light homemaking; laundry; personal care; medication supervision; hygiene and grooming; patient transfer using a wheelchair; In emergency situations administer first aid to injured or ill individuals within the scope of competencies; assist in the delivery and serving of lunch and supper meals; lead a gentle exercise program and social activities that engage clients with cognitive barriers. Documenting and reporting on the Client Information Management System the health status of clients. Care will be provided at all community locations.
Education
- High school education or minimum one year work experience
- Secondary school education Home Support Worker Certificate, Health Care Aide Certificate, Personal Care Certificate. Other health related certificate or education.
- First Aid and CPR certification or willing to obtain
Requirements
- Current Criminal Reference Check Vulnerable Sector
- Up to date Immunization
- Valid Ontario G drivers license and access to a vehicle
- Desire to work with seniors
- Knowledge of indigenous culture an asset
Hours
Full Time – 35 hours to 40 hours per week
Schedules includes, day, evening, night and weekend work, required to work a flexible schedule
Rate of Pay
- $20.11/hour probation rate as per union wage scale and enhancement pay
- $21.29/hour – $24.29/hour as per union wage scale and enhancement pay
