It is with great sadness that the family of Clem Boily announces his sudden passing. Clem was born on August 10th, 1945 and took the hand of the Lord on Tuesday, December 30th, 2003. Clem was born and raised in St. Gabriel, QB. As a young and carefree individual he rode the roads on his Harley. He trained as a welder and perfected his skill working as a pipe fitter welder for many years. This career took him to many places but mostly in the Timmins and Sudbury area. It was there that Clem met and married his first wife Dianne Brunet in 1973. They had their daughter Karine Boily in 1974. In 1985 Clem took a new road in life. He moved to Vermilion Bay and met the woman who would share the remainder of his life. Clem took a chance and asked Henriette Trudeau out on a date on September 17, 1985. He learned quickly that this woman was raising her five kids. As scary as this seemed, he married the love of his life and together they took on the task of seeing these kids throughout the teenage and young adult years. He became a teacher, confidant, and a friend. Together Clem and Henriette saw the marriages of their children and the births of their grandchildren. Clem enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He spent the last five years working as fishing and hunting guide at Andy Myers Lodge. Clem enjoyed the outdoors thoroughly; he scouted lakes and explored many areas far and wide. As the explorer he was, he made many a map freehand that any explorer would have taken pride in. Clem also enjoyed chopping wood for his mother-in-law, coffeeing at the local coffee shops, and visiting with family. Each spring he took pride in seeding and tending to his garden. His greatest pride and joy was spending quality time with each of his twelve grandchildren. Clem leaves to mourn his loving devoted wife Henriette Boily and his six children – Gisele (Jeff Sothwell – Lindsey and Sam) of Sioux Lookout, Ontario, Lynne (John Gibson – Amy, Tiffany [Mi’min], and Tyler) of Eagle River, Ontario, Denise (Rick Cote – Chantal and Kyle) of Beardmore, Ontario, Karine (Mike Cyr – Audrey) of Montreal, Quebec, Nicole (Barry Kohut – Mackenzie, Jessica, Dustin, and Spencer) of Nipigon, Ontario, and by Darryl Trudeau of Dryden, Ontario. He is also survived by his brother Jean Paul (Charlotte) Boily of Eagle River, Ontario, and sisters Monique (Yvon) Rouillard of St. Gabriel, Quebec, Suzanne (Marcien) Vandal of Red Lake Road, and Monique Bibeau of Drummondville, Quebec. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive him. Clem was predeceased by his parents William and Jeanne Boily of St. Gabriel, Quebec, his brother Lucien Boily, brother-in-law Fern Bibeau, and his niece Chantal Boily. Private family visitation was held. Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 3, 2004, at Our Lady Fatima Catholic Church at 1:00 p.m. with Father Luigi Filippini officiating. Interment followed in the Vermilion Bay Catholic Cemetery. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Heart & Stroke Foundation through the Dryden Community Funeral Home, 249 Grand Trunk Ave., Dryden, Ontario, P8N 2X3. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to dcfh@mail.drytel.net
