Fernand Joseph Levesque

In loving memory of Mr. Fernand Levesque.

Mr. Levesque was born on July 23, 1924 in Lac Des Plage, Quebec spending his early years in that area. During the 1940’s he met Marcelle and on September 7, 1948 they were married in St. Emille Suffolk, Quebec.

Subsequently, employment brought them to Northwestern Ontario and they settled in Sioux Lookout in 1955. It was in 1960 that the family moved to Ignace. Family was first and foremost in Fernand’s life and he enjoyed time with friends and family. His grandchildren and great grand children brought him many hours of joy and pleasure. Playing cards with those close to him were special times. Other leisure time activities included curling, hunting, fishing and gardening. From time to time traveling as well. In April of 2003 Fernand and Marcelle moved to Dryden calling Patricia Gardens home. Mr. Levesque passed away in Dryden on December 30, 2003. He will be sadly missed by family, friends, and those who were close to him. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Lionel and Albeni, brother in laws Ariste and Gaston. Surviving him are wife Marcelle, children Yves (Debbie) of Dryden; Louise (Maurice) Stewart of Toronto; Guy (Debbie) of Ignace; Denis (Lise) of Ignace and Monique of Ignace.. Grandchildren Jacqueline (Justin) Lear of Toronto; Nicole (Chuck) Murphy of Winnipeg; Suzanne of Toronto; Alain (Tammy) of Ignace; Jeffery (Michelle) of Ignace; Brian, Richard (Isabelle) of Thunder Bay and Michel (Robin) of Matheson. Great grandchildren Brandon, Amanda, Thomas, Ethan, Jasmine, Koltyn, Charlize, Alyssa, Alex and Tyler. Brothers Joseph Edgar (Henritte), Orphee and Yvon (Francoise). Sisters Fernande, Lucie (Gerard), Geslaine (Jean), Lorraine, Floraine (Florent) and Mercine (Rejen). Brother in law Robert & Gail Molloy and niece Shannon Molloy. Visitation was held on Sunday January 4, 2004 from 6-9 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church in Ignace, prayers at 7 p.m. Funeral Services for Mr. Levesque were held on Monday January 5, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with Msgr. George Bourguignon officiating. Interment of ashes to follow at a later date at the Ignace Cemetery.
