Cliffs Natural Resources is welcoming the decision by the Matawa First Nations to drop all legal challenges of the environmental process to the Ring of Fire chromite project in the far north.
Company spokesperson Jason Aagenes says while it’s good news, the company still hasn’t taken the pause button off the project because there are still other roadblocks
Aagenes says the resumption of the environmental process depends on three key issues.
The company says it still has some land issues to settle and environmental approval from the provincial government.
Aagenes says the company remains optimistic about the project.
