Club Looks For More Teams

A call for more teams to take part in the upcoming dragon boat festival in Fort Frances.

The Boundary Waters Dragon Boat Club will host the event June 27th.

Club secretary Annely Armstrong-Thorstad says they’re hoping to have 16 teams in place.

The have five.

A couple of those teams will come from the International Falls area.

One team, involving a group of workers at the mill, are using the event as a fundraiser to collect money for local veterans.

The club also has a contest underway to name its dragon, acquired from Beijing to help promote festival.

Suggestions can be made through the club’s website or to the Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce.
