The Cancer Advocacy Coalition is urging every province to extend HPV vaccination coverage to boys.
Currently, every province offers Human Papillomavirus Virus vaccines to young girls, but just PEI and Alberta offer coverage for males.
Spokesperson Jamie McDonald says she’d like to see groups lobby MLA’s for expanded coverage, because she says they’re currently lacking strong evidence for funding.
She adds HPV can lead to some cancers and without coverage, and the three shots cost up to $500.
