Cocaine Bust In Kenora

Provincial Police have seized over $13,000 worth of cocaine and other illegal drugs in a bust. With the help of the Treaty Three Police Service and the Street Crimes Unit, police stopped two vehicles in a parking lot in the east end of Kenora last Friday afternoon. A search of the vehicles uncovered about 135 grams of cocaine, a large amount of Canadian currency and other items related to the drug trade. Two Winnipeg residents, 44-year-old Sheila Blais and 40-year-old Kenneth Gionet have been charged with trafficking cocaine and possession of property obtained by crime. They remain in custody pending a bail hearing Michael Borchardt of Madsen has been charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. He has been released for a court date in June.
