Coffee House Fundraiser To Help Build Homes In Guatemala

Building homes in Guatemala.

That’s what a group of Dryden residents will be doing and Marcel Penner has come on board to help raise funds for the construction of those homes.

Penner says he will be hosting a Coffee House on October 24th at Timbers Church and a number of great musical acts are scheduled to perform.

Those scheduled to perform include Emily Chasowy, Karl Friesen, Don Adams and Ethan Armit.

Sandra Ottertail and two of her kids will join Holly Schmidt and her son in Guatemala to build homes for the poor.

Penner says they are hoping to raise enough money to build a house per person.

He notes it’s relatively cheap to build homes in that country, noting the group is looking to raise $400 U.S. per house.

Organizers will also be collecting clothing and other items to help those in need in the developing country.
