Cold and Dry in December

Even though temperatures across Northwestern Ontario were well blow normal in December, no new records were set.
Atikokan and Fort Frances were the only two communities to experience a day above freezing, December 2nd.
The average temperature in Red Lake last month was minus 21.4, 5.2 degrees colder then normal.
Ear Falls was an average minus 20.
Dryden, Sioux Lookout and Kenora were both 5-degrees below normal at minus 19, while Atikokan registered an average low of -18.4-degrees.
All area communities also posted below normal precipitation.
