Collision on HWY 17

OPP are continuing to investigate a collision on Highway 17 in Revell Township, 6 kilometers east of the Highway 603 and Highway 17 junction in Dyment.

On arrival yesterday morning, Fire rescue crews and OPP found a semi transport trailer unit rolled over with the tractor unit in the ditch, and the trailer partially across one lane of the highway.

A passenger in the second vehicle – a pickup truck – died as a result of the collision. Deceased is 43 year old Mathew Love of Banff,Alberta.

Both drivers suffered non life threatening injuries and were treated at Dryden Regional Hospital.

As a result of the collision Tuesday morning, Highway 17 was fully closed for over 4 hours and not reopened to one lane until 1 o’clock.
