Committee Calling for New School in Hudson

The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board is reviewing a report which recommends a new school be built in Hudson.
An Accommodation Review was carried out this past year after it was determined the existing school was prohibitive to repair.
Superintendent of Business Dean Carrie says a decision whether a new school should be built will ultimately lie with Trustees.
Carrie says there are a couple of factors that could determine whether a new school is built in Hudson.
He says the Lac Seul First Nation is talking about building its own school in nearby Frenchman’s Head.
The public school board would also need the Ministry of Education to fund the project.
The Review Committee also introduced a second recommendation to keep the existing school open unless enrollment drops below 40-students.
