The Regional ‘Common Voice’ initiative is moving ahead with various
task forces now being established.
Anne Krassilowsky is the President of the Northwestern Ontario
Municipal Association and says the main focus now is warning the Ontario Energy Board that the North will be suffering an electricity shortage if the Atikokan and Thunder Bay Coal plants are taken off-line
Krassilowsky adds consultations with Treaty #3, #9 and the Union of
Ontario Indians on the ‘Common Voice’ initiative also continues.
The issue was discussed at the Kenora District Municipal Association Conference in Sioux Lookout.
