Communities Asked to Support Forestry Charter

A new Northern forestry group is urging the Ministry of Natural
Resources to change the way it issues wood allocation licences.
Dr. Peggy Smith is with the Northern Ontario Sustainable Communities
Partnership and says Municipalities need to have more control over
harvesting rights.
The group is trying to gain support for their cause and to date 8
area municipalities have endorsed their forestry charter.
