The Dryden Area Health Services Foundation believes a Community Clinic will attract more Doctors.
Chair Brian Kenny says the deal which sees the Hospital buying the Dingwall and King Street Clinic’s couldn’t come at a better time.
Kenny says it will help provide competitive overhead for Physicians working in the facility.
While the Foundation had stressed that buying bricks and mortar was not the answer, Kenny says it’s different now that the Hospital has taken over, because he says their in the business of management.
Kenny believes there is now room for optimism over recruitment efforts.
Meantime, Physicians at the Dingwall Clinic seem to like the deal reached.
Dr. John Dove says neighboring communities have been prospering under a Community Clinic structure and this agreement should level the playing field.
He says it supports current Doctors who have given their time while providing a competitive opportunity to attract new ones.
Dove says they will be able to offer substantial rent reductions for current tenants and sweeten the pot for prospective ones.
