The Dryden Naturalist Group is hoping the Nabish Wetland System will
receive Government protection.
A special concern bird, the black tern, has been nesting in the
Dryden area wetland and the group is concerned about the colony because of
low-water levels.
Officials add road maintenance could affect water levels even more
and warn the largest colony in the Northwest will be no more if changes
aren’t made.
