Concern Surrounding Area Newspapers

The MP for Thunder Bay-Rainy River stresses cuts to the Publications
Assistance Program could put community newspapers in jeopardy.
Ken Boshcoff says the $15-million in funding is vital to
several small newspapers in Northwestern Ontario.
Boshcoff says communities such as Atikokan, Rainy River and Fort
Frances depend on their local papers and the loss of these publications
would have a disastrous effect on the economy.
