Concerns Over Treasury Metals Project In Wabigoon

Dryden councillors are most concerned about water quality, when it comes to the Treasury Metals Goliath gold project in Wabigoon.
Council heard from Goliath Mines Stakeholders, a group of individuals who are concerned about mining impacts on the community.
Mayor Craig Nuttall says the group is concerned about leakage into the lake and worried about noise levels.
Nuttall says the project needs to be looked at very closely and notes there’s a chance for pollution everywhere.
He says that the Domtar Mill had a chlorine leak years ago and the whole city needed to be evacuated.
However, he adds there are differently types of safe guards, so situations like that don’t happen.
Nuttall says he looks forward to hearing from Treasury Metals.
