The Vice-President of the Goliath Gold project says he has heard the concerns of local residents.
Several people are worried about the mining project’s impact on real estate values, water quality and aquatic life.
Open houses were held in Dryden and Wabigoon this week.
Norm Bush is calling the meetings a success, noting there’s a very high level of interest in the mining project.
Bush says they will take in all of the information and see if there’s anything in there they haven’t considered.
He adds before they come up with their final design, they will ensure they have mitigated any potential effects to the maximum amount possible.
Thunder Lake resident Larry Gouliquer was just one of the people in attendance to express his main concern.
Gouliquer says no one has been knocking on his door presenting him with information on what is going to be built in his backyard.
He calls the open houses “very beneficial” and is urging others to come to meetings to learn more about the project.
