Congress Of Aboriginal Peoples Anxious To Work With Justin Trudeau

The National Chief of the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples is urging the new Liberal government to act swiftly on campaign promises for First Nations.

Dwight Dorey says he’s looking forward to seeing real change on long-delayed issues impacting aboriginals.

Dorey believes Prime Minister-elect Justin Trudeau will bring meaningful consultation forward.

He’s calling for an immediate inquiry into missing and murdered aboriginal women and to implement the recommendations of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

Dorey is also asking the Prime Minister to officially adopt the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People.
