All the major parties will have their candidates in place in the Kenora-Rainy River Riding after this weekend.
The Conservatives will select their candidate Saturday after a travelling ballot box makes stops in Dryden, Fort Frances and Kenora.
Rod McKay says he’s not worried about running against Louis Roussin, who is his seatmate on Kenora council.
McKay says he’s ready to hit the campaign trail as soon as the nomination meeting is over.
He notes he’s been energized by the whole process.
Roussin says he had been thinking about entering the race long before Howard Hampton announced he wouldn’t be running again.
Roussin says while he’s enjoyed his time on council, he feels he can make a bigger difference at the provincial level.
He says he likes what he sees in the Conservative platform.
The ballots will be counted just after 8:00 Saturday night.
