Contraband Cigarettes Seized On Highway 17

A northeastern Ontario man faces charges following a traffic stop on Highway 17 west of Kenora.

Provincial Police stopped the vehicle near Moth Lake and seized just under 80,000 unmarked cigarettes.

The value of the smokes is roughly $24,000.

Police also seized a small amount of marijuana.

OPP say 54-year-old Randolph McCue of Papineau-Cameron Township has been charged with trafficking contraband tobacco.

Police say further charges are pending.
