Contract Talks Set For Monday

The two sides are set to meet Monday to begin another round of negotiations in hopes of resolving a 13-week-old strike by education assistants in the Keewatin-Patricia School District.
Union spokesperson Pam Constable confirms the school board and the union will sit down next week in Dryden.
Constable adds the union is looking for an increase in the hours of work for its members, an issue which has become the main stumbling block in the dispute.
Recently, School Board Chair Barb Hancock extended the olive branch when trustees told her they wanted the board to resume negotiations and make a new offer.
Meantime, the union continues to stage massive rallies across the region.
Today, they held protests in Red Lake, Dryden and Kenora.
Another rally is planned for Monday in Dryden.
