Contractor Sought For Recycling

The Northwest Ontario Recycle Association is about to try the tendering process again hoping to find a private contractor to collect and process recyclable material.
NORA sought tenders last fall but only one company, Thunder Bay-based Recool Canada came forward.
If NORA had approved that deal, it would have meant a number of changes including the closure of the Dryden recycling plant.
But NORA Chair Dennis Brown is not ruling that out as the organization calls for tenders again later this month.
Brown says there are basically two options NORA is considering by tendering again.
One is to keep the status quo while the other is for a private contractor to do its own collection and processing which would mean the Dryden plant would close.
