A coroner’s inquest into the death of a 34-year-old miner from Ignace
is scheduled to begin Wednesday.
Christopher White died in June 2004, while working at the Placer Dome
Musselwhite gold mine, north of Pickle Lake.
The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding White’s death
including safety procedures for miners performing post-blast gas checks and
unexpected falls into open stopes.
The inquest will be held in Thunder Bay and is expected to last 3 days.
