Dryden residents can expect to pay 10% more for water starting on July 1st.
The rate hike is needed as the City can’t run a deficit under Provincial Law.
Director of Public Works and Engineering Mike Louttit says the accumulated waterworks deficit stood at nearly $360,000 last year.
Louttit says this increase should get them to a zero deficit.
Residents can expect to pay $8 more for water service.
This will be the last hike as the City is moving towards a water meter system.
Council Expected to Raise Water Rates by 10%
